Our Philosophy
At Faith Lutheran Childcare Center, we believe in teaching to the whole child’s growth and development: spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth.

We provide a safe, caring environment in which children can grow and explore the world around them. We believe that children learn best in a positive setting that includes appropriate activities. We value the learning that happens through play, and the creativity and curiosity of each child. We want each child to be loved, valued, and accepted as an individual.

Our Major Objectives
We exist to serve school families and the community. We want to provide a quality education and help strengthen the faith and character of the children enrolled in our program. We feel that in order to provide the best education possible, we must permeate the curriculum and environment with Christianity. With this in mind, we strive to:

• Assist each child in their relationship with God
• Assist each child in the growth of a positive self-concept
• Assist each child in developing positive relationships with others
• Assist each child in understanding the world around them
• Assist each child in her or her physical development
• Welcome parents into our center at all times

School-Year Program
Our school-year program offers full-time and part-time rates. Many children visit the center before and after school. We are on the bus route for Seven Oaks Elementary.

Children enrolled in our school-year program may purchase lunches through Faith Lutheran School’s hot lunch program.

Our daily schedule is designed to incorporate free choice time with more structured activity. Rest time is every afternoon.

A typical day during the school year is as follows:

7:00 – 8:30 a.m. Free choice

8:30 – 8:40 a.m. Clean-up

8:40 – 8:55 a.m. Jesus story

8:55 – 9:40 a.m. Outdoor recess (large motor skills)

9:40 – 9:50 a.m. Wash hands

9:50 – 10:00 a.m. Circle time

10:00 – 10:15 a.m. Snack

10:15 – 11:10 a.m. Center time

11:10 – 11:20 a.m. Clean up/Wash hands

11:20 – 11:30 a.m. Music time

11:30 – 12:00 p.m. Lunch

12:00 – 12:30 p.m. Recess

12:30 – 12:45 p.m. Go in and wash hands

12:45 – 2:30 p.m. Rest time

2:30 – 2:50 p.m. Music tape/story tape

2:50 – 3:05 p.m. Snack

3:05 – 4:30 p.m. Recess

(3:15 – 4:00 p.m.) (Homework time grades 1-6)

4:30 – 5:00 p.m. Wash hands + Craft time

5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Free choice

Summer Program
Our summer childcare session starts the Monday following our last day of school in June. The summer session is fun for all the teachers and children, as we participate in special activities on and off site. Our daily activities include reading time and much time spent in God’s great outdoors. Field trips (which are posted in advance) include bus trips to places like Woodland Park Zoo, Northwest Trek, and the Hands On Children’s Museum.

Summer session information is published in early spring. Rates are available for full-time care, or three days per week. Call today for more information!
