Hello! My name is Marie Koehler. I teach the
Monday, Wednesday, Friday Pre-Kindergarten classes here at Faith Lutheran. I
graduated from Central Washington University with a BA in Elementary
Education. I have received an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and
continue to enjoy learning and taking classes. I so enjoy teaching the four and five year olds. At this age, their excitement for learning, creating their friendships, and sharing their accomplishments with their parents is so much fun to see. My husband, Matt and I have three children who all went to Faith Lutheran. Kelsey and Michael are in college now and Annie is in middle school. We love our family times, enjoy sports and being active with our church and community friends.
My name is Amy Suelzle. I graduated from University of Oregon with a bachelors of English in 1992. Later I received my teaching certificate from Concordia University in 1996. I also studied overseas in London at Oak Hill College and Middlesex University in 1994 with an emphasis in religious studies and Methods for teaching Science. In 2000 I finished my Special Education endorsement. I have been teaching at Faith Lutheran School since 1996. I am currently teaching Pre-Kindergarten in the morning and Half-day Kindergarten in the afternoon. I have also taught grades 4-6 as well as 7th/8th grade Math and P.E. Many people ask me what my favorite grade to teach is, and my response is whatever grade I am currently teaching seems to be my favorite. I really love teaching two different grade levels currently. It has opened my mind to how children develop and grow during this important learning period. I love when I see the light bulb go off in a students brain when they have mastered a concept. It is very exciting to be a part of a child’s growth. I also believe it is important to administer to the whole child. I am not just responsible for a child’s cognitive development, but also their social, emotional and spiritual well-being. I have been married for 10 years and we have two children. Both our children are currently at Faith. Megan is in 3rd grade and Madison is in 1st grade. We love the outdoors and we try and do a lot together. My husband likes to go motorcycle riding with Megan and is trying to convince Madison to go. We also like to camp and bike in the San Juans in the summer and snowshoe and go sledding in the winter. |
