For a specific teacher, you can:
- Transport and supervise on field trips
- Help with parties and other classroom events
- Help with a classroom art project
- Redecorate bulletin boards
- Grade papers (we love parents who are willing to get all of their hours this way! It's easier when there is consistency and practice.)
- Prepare project materials at home (cut out shapes, make craft dough, etc.)
For the school at large, you can:
- Mow the lawn
- Help maintain the baseball field
- Take care of gardens
- Rake wood chips on the playground
- Pump playground balls (PLEASE!)
- Fix computer issues (tell us who you are, if this is your expertise!)
- Work on our printer cartridge recycling program
- Work in the library (shelving books, etc.)
- Handle our Campbell's Soup label program
- Redecorate the school office bulletin boards
- Quiz students on our Passport Club testing days (mornings, once per month)
- Attend monthly Partners in Education (P.I.E.) meetings (1 hour granted for each meeting)
- Work on P.I.E. fundraisers (promoting, assembling materials, etc.)
- Attend monthly "Men of Faith" meetings. (For our men, these are held the 2nd Saturday of each month, 7 a.m. - noon. Church and school men have breakfast and Bible study, and then do repair and maintenance work on the facilities. Ask for more information.)
- Help with Chess Club
- Work at the October Harvest Carnival
- Accompany the children, on an instrument, for musical performances. Can you play piano or guitar while the students sing?
